Imagine a night by the fire without your clothes smelling like smoke the next day or your lungs being clogged by microscopic smoke particles. Believe it or not, it is possible with the Helios Fire’s advanced airflow technology. Don’t get me wrong – we love bonfires in nature as much as the next person, but there always seem to be a few unlucky people in the group who are the magnets for the smoke and have to keep moving around the circle. This is no longer a problem with the Helios Fire innovative technology.
The Helios Fire concept feeds airflow simultaneously at two points of the fire. Primary airflow comes beneath the base of the fire feeding the flames directly by the fuel source. As the flames begin air heats and moves upwards through the metal cylinder, thus making space for more air to be injected underneath. In addition to this to increase the burning intensity of the fuel – our system allows for the injection of secondary air at the top of the fire pit right before the exit of the firepit.
Secondary air is transported through the hollow sides of the cylinder and injected through the holes beneath the ring. This injection of fresh pre-heated oxygen right at the exit of the firepit allows any remaining unburned gasses to combust and be consumed by the flames, thus achieving a completely clean burn.
The burning temperatures achieved by the Helios Fire are several hundred degrees hotter than conventional fire pits. This not only allows for complete and full fuel utilization (turning all wood to fine ash) but also allows for more heat created for your enjoyment and clean burn with minimal to no smoke particulates remaining.
Please note that our firepit needs some time to reach optimal combustion conditions. This means that the side air chamber needs to be pre-heated, therefore please allow around 10 minutes for reaching optimal clean burn. It is very important here to start the fire with lots of dry kindling and avoid adding bigger logs until the fire gets going.
